The victim of the 'Hannibal Lecter'-style killing at the Sirhowy Arms Hotel in Argoed, Caerphilly, south Wales (inset), has been named as 22-year-old Cerys Yemm (left and centre). Matthew Williams, 34, (right) who has not been formally identified by police but named locally, is suspected of murdering the young woman just hours after he met her at a pub. It is understood he chatted her up at the bar and offered to buy her a drink before asking her back to his room at the hotel, which was being used as temporary accommodation for homeless people. Once back at the hotel, he allegedly attacked her before 'eating her face while high on cocaine' and was caught after staff burst in on the horrific act. Miss Yemm was found unconscious on the floor with appalling facial injuries by police who then Tasered Williams. The suspect - who was released from prison two weeks ago following a five-year sentence for attacking his ex-partner - became unresponsive and died while in police custody. A murder inquiry has been launched into the death of Miss Yemm while the use of the Taser has been referred to police watchdog the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
